2016 – July/Aug/Sept: La Mesa’s Environmental Sustainability Commission is helping shape the City’s Climate Action Plan in a four-part series in July through September 2016. Climate Action Campaign is participating in the public dialogue alongside our allies like SanDiego350 to hold La Mesa accountable and on track.
July 18, 2016, 7pm: An update and chronology of the CAP was presented by City Staff. Climate Action Campaign attended to remind the Commission of La Mesa’s legal obligation to create a measurable, enforceable plan that greatly reduces greenhouse gases and protects future generations of La Mesans from the impacts of climate change. August 3, 2016, 7pm: Community Choice Aggregation presentation at a regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting.
August 15, 2016, 7pm: Discuss Energy Efficiency, Urban Forests, and CAP data obtained to date regarding demographic inputs, vehicle miles travelled VMT), inventory forecasts, and 2035 statewide reduction targets.

September 19, 2016, 7pm: Present CAP Strategy and Potential Enforceable Measures. The goal of this meeting will be to obtain ESC advice to forward to the Planning Commission and City Council.
