Surfriderâs Blue Water Task Force and Coastkeeper team up to help isolate the sources of pollution in our countyâs eleven watersheds. The time requirement for new volunteers is usually from 9am until 3pm which includes training and time spent in the field gathering data and water samples. There are two training locations, one in Point Loma and the other at Lake San Marcos. Volunteers will be trained in sample collection techniques, measuring air and water temp, pH, dissolved oxygen, and conductivity. After the training volunteers will split into groups and perform these analyses at designated watersheds.

If you are interested in carpooling from South County to North County please let me know. Please register early because space is limited. Please indicate which area (North County or South County and any specifics) you would like to volunteer in and if you are a returning volunteer.
