Right now, California has the chance to hold utilities accountable and lower our bills. We need your voice to make it happen! We’re asking our SoCal cities to step up and support key state legislation that protects us, not our utility companies. Here’s how we can make it happen:

  • Learn about key state legislation that slashes energy bills and holds utilities accountable.

  • We need your voice! Tell your elected representatives what sky-high energy bills mean for you and your family.

  • We need you to share your story so local leaders are compelled to back state legislation! The louder we are in SoCal, the less Sacramento can ignore us.

  • We win key legislation that checks utility power and lowers energy rates for our communities.

There are 10+ bills on the table in Sacramento that would reform our rigged energy system and block corporate utility greed! It’s time for real rate relief.

Take Action

We need your help to hold monopoly utilities accountable!

We are collecting community stories to turn the heat up on local leaders. Share your story, and we’ll deliver it directly into the hands of your leaders.

This package of state bills will:

    • AB 2463 (Petrie-Norris) — Requires CPUC to disclose how they determine the profits monopoly utilities charge families.

    • SB 905 (Becker) — Slashes profits by tying executive pay to reducing rate increases, reducing shareholder profits on safety projects, expanding options for low-cost public financing of utility projects, and improving the performance of the existing grid.

    • SB 1098 (Perez) — Stops utilities from using obscure, ratepayer-funded accounts like a no-limit credit card by requiring upfront approval before they spend—helping curb unnecessary costs.

    • AB 1761 (Rogers) — Requires utilities to disclose the data and assumptions they use to calculate hidden fees on our bills.

    • SB 913 (Becker) — Strengthens grid reliability by allowing home batteries and EVs to coordinate as "virtual power plants" that sell clean energy back to the grid.

    • SB 1138 (Padilla) — Allows energy providers to trade extra electricity by the hour instead of expensive monthly blocks that communities don’t need.

    • SB 1359 (Stern) — Prevents monopoly energy companies from forcing families to pay for unnecessary gas infrastructure and bans them from charging us for avoidable gas leaks.

    • AB 2516 (Petrie-Norris) — Lowers our bills by allowing the state to buy expensive grid equipment (like massive transformers) in bulk—saving money through coordinated bulk purchasing opportunities that utilities currently ignore.

    • AB 2493 (Petrie-Norris) — Helps prevent wasteful utility overspending by increasing independent oversight of transmission projects and enabling lower-cost alternatives instead of expensive infrastructure buildouts.

    • SB 886 (Padilla) — Forces massive Big Tech data centers to pay for their own power grid upgrades and energy storage so that families aren't stuck footing the bill.

    • SB 1159 (Cabaldon): Bans AI-generated "bot" comments from flooding public hearings and drowning out Orange County voices.

    • SB 943 (Becker) — Makes it cheaper for California factories to switch from gas-powered heat to electric, helping cut pollution and keep manufacturing jobs in the state.
