MARIANA LOPEZ

BOARD MEMBER

Ms. Lopez is a Mexico City native and seasoned executive with more than twenty years of leadership experience as founder and principal of a successful translation and interpretation firm serving the California–Baja California region. She holds a B.A. from Escuela Panamericana de

Hotelería, a California professional accreditation in translation and interpretation, and an M.A. in Advanced Studies in International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego. 


Throughout her career, Ms. Lopez has partnered with government agencies, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector leaders to facilitate high-level, cross- sector dialogue. Her work has centered on advancing binational collaboration, strengthening institutional relationships, and ensuring inclusive public engagement across linguistic and cultural boundaries.



Deeply rooted in the San Diego–Tijuana region, Ms. Lopez brings a cross-border perspective to environmental governance. She recognizes the Cali–Baja corridor as a shared ecosystem requiring coordinated stewardship, science-informed policy, and community-driven solutions. Her commitment to sustainability is grounded in fostering equitable partnerships that protect natural resources while promoting resilient regional development.
